Tindersticks lead singer Stuart Staples composed Sébastien Lifshitz’s Adolescentes original soundtrack. The Tindersticks have often collaborated with director Claire Denis whose assistant director for Nenette et Boni (1997) was Sebastien. He also directed a documentary about her : Claire Denis, la vagabonde (1995).
“I quickly showed my work to Stuart who told me that he was fascinated by the project and how I had been so close to the two girls, yet not very visible. Very quickly,he wanted to create a music that was similarly not very explicit and showing delicacy in order to accompany the two girls and express Emma and Anais’ thoughts. Anyway, I love what he did on this films, don’t you think ?”
